Saying Goodbye Puts Things In Perspective

Military Class

I went to a funeral yesterday. Not something I particularly care for - nor does anyone. But this was for a gentleman who was a true war hero, a loving father, and husband, a commercial airline pilot, and an attorney. He lived a full life but still will be greatly missed. He was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetary complete with a horse-drawn caisson, color guard, 21 gun salute, and a military flyover. Say what you might about the military, but no one does ceremony better than they do.

A Plan Creates Order

The reason that a military funeral comes off with such flawless precision is that they have a full-fledged plan for every aspect of the proceeding. Nothing is left to chance and every element is thought out and run with, well, military precision. Creating that order and executing it with precision removed an extraordinary amount of stress from the family and loved ones. They weren't trying to handle dozens of issues in real-time and as a result, they were able to properly focus on the memory and sentiment at hand. Everything was in order. Everything was thought out. Everything happened exactly as the family intended.

Order Provides Peace of Mind

Funerals go hand-in-hand with estate planning, I guess. After all, both center around the event that is sure to happen to all of us. What if you could create the order for your family such that their peace of mind was assured and they could focus on the things that mattered after you are gone? And not petty in-fighting or uncertainty. What if the distribution of your assets and material tangible items could be accomplished with military precision? That is what estate planning gives you the opportunity to provide for your family. What a gift? A properly designed Will or Trust removes any doubt and ensures that your wishes are carried out exactly as you intended them to be providing an enormous sense of relief and peace of mind. How valuable would that be to you?

We would love to help you achieve just this kind of result. Give us a call or reach out to us to help you set up your estate plan.
